What is the Oral Examination Preparation Workshop
Our BCS Oral Examination Preparation Workshop is a 1-day workshop, which enables you to better understand the fundamental areas you will be tested on in your examination, and provide you with a baseline, enabling you to fully prepare to take your BCS oral examination, for the International Diploma in Business Analysis.
Is this training suitable for me?
The oral examination for the BCS International Business Analysis Diploma is a requirement for candidates on the International Diploma in Business Analysis course. Upon completion of your written examinations, you will take an oral exam, which this workshop aims to help you prepare for.
If you are already enrolled onto the International Diploma in Business Analysis, or are planning on taking that qualification, this workshop would be beneficial to help you prepare for and pass your oral exam.
Course Details, Syllabus & Exams
You will immerse yourself over a one-day course and go over what will be examined and how the oral examinations are run.

- Business case development
- Requirements definition
- Requirements management and documentation
- Practitioner specialism
Up to 50 minutes oral examination with two examiners that will provide the delegate with a range of questions.
Questions will be based on topics defined in the oral examination syllabus and from your chosen specialist modules. The questions will require you to apply your business analysis knowledge and understanding to scenarios described by the oral examiners.
The oral examination for the International Diploma in Business Analysis is booked by the prospective delegate through BCS directly and fees are paid for the examination directly to the BCS. These fees are not covered by nor included in this workshop.
The Business Analysis (BA) oral examinations are the final element of the programme leading to the BCS International Diploma Certification.
The examination may be taken by you when you have passed four written examinations:
- One examination for each of the two core certificate modules;
- One examination for a module selected from the set of knowledge-based specialist certificate modules;
- One examination for a module selected from the set of practitioner specialist certificate modules. Please note you will not be able to book an examination unless you have passed all the required modules.
It is recommended that you sit the oral examination within twelve months of completing the prerequisite modules.
After the advice given by the Government, NHS and WHO, we have taken the appropriate measures to ensure the safety of all our delegates attending our classrooms and events. This has been, and always will be, our number one priority.
We wanted to reassure you that all our scheduled classrooms and events will still be running. However, we will be now be offering them Virtually.
This decision to move all learning to Virtual and to offer support remotely has been taken to protect delegates and trainers. This allows delegates to continue their learning and for trainers to maintain the same level of service.
